If men won’t seek therapy, therapy must seek them out.
In 2021, Mehiläinen brought group therapy to three legendary Finnish public saunas, making it easier for men to talk about their mental health in a place where they already felt comfortable.
One hundred men took part in the first sessions. What began as a three-day campaign grew into a long-running concept and eventually inspired Mielten vuoro, a television programme on a national TV channel in Finland, MTV3.
